Cleveland's Steelyard Commons Grand Opening - September 1, 2007
The $125 million Steelyard Commons redevelopment project is transforming
brownfield property into a vibrant shopping center. Stores have been opening
over the course of the last several months. The formal grand opening event will
feature live entertainment and family-friendly activities including games, a
rock climbing wall, magicians, performances by Outback Ray featuring
exotic reptiles and a parade featuring local high schools.

First Interstate Properties, Ltd. hosted a groundbreaking ceremony today for Steelyard Commons, a $120 million commercial redevelopment project that will transform 125 acres of abandoned industrial land into the largest open-air retail center ever to be built in Cuyahoga County.

Cleveland's Steelyard Commons
First Interstate Properties, Ltd. announced today its plans for a historic multi-tenant retail facility to be built on a portion of the former ISG/LTV Steel site in the City of Cleveland. The project, Cleveland’s Steelyard Commons, is proposed to be a 1,000,000 square foot retail complex, including an extensive list of uses similar to many large suburban shopping complexes. “The project will be similar in scale, attention to architecture, and attention to green spaces to First Interstate’s project in Avon, Ohio, called Avon Commons” said Mitchell C.
